Presentation Formats

Snapshots

INVOLVE 08 is offering a new way of presenting valuable experiences of learning to other people in the youth sector called snapshots.  Snapshots are a sharing of learning from projects, programmes, and practice.  Snapshots sessions will consist of four ten minute ‘snapshots’ from organisations followed by a 20 minute discussion.  Like papers, panels and interactive workshops, snapshots will be grouped together around themes and topics.  If you, or your organisation, are interested in presenting a snap shot, take a moment to think about how you could creatively share your experiences with others.

Papers

INVOLVE 08 papers should be stimulating, engaging, challenging, and fresh spoken presentations informed by research. Like other presentations, papers will reflect the themes of INVOLVE 08.   Papers have an allocated time of 15 minutes for presentation with an extra five minutes for discussion.  If you would like to present a paper, we ask that you keep the ‘end’ of your presentation in mind the whole time – think about what you would like your listeners to take from your presentation.  Paper presentations can be an option for any person or organisation in the youth sector; we also offer a ‘peer review’ for those interested (e.g academics).

Interactive Workshops

INVOLVE 08 workshops are 45 minute slots in which people get to learn new things, be challenged add value to practice.  Workshops will reflect the themes of INVOLVE 08.  Workshops are about participating, learning, and interactive group activities.  Workshops will keep participants engaged the whole time and will use a variety of learning styles not just powerpoint.  Workshops are exciting and stimulating times in the INVOLVE programme that don’t promote an organisation or give a mini lecture but leave the people attending with skills and tools to take into their workplace  There will be strictly limited workshop slots.

Please note there is also the option of profiling your organisation or service during a market space during lunchtimes.  More information will come out about this at a later date.  If you are interested email …
